|
Enfield Council announced last week that 'Generally bituminous macadam will be used on footway renewal projects in both urban and rural areas.’

New Primary School Academy to open |
|
Enfield’s Conservative councillors are delighted that the Kingfisher Hall Primary Academy has been given the go ahead, subject to planning permission, and is due to open opposite Waverley School in September 2013.
The Conservative Group's Education spokesman, Councillor Jon Kaye says, “ the deal reached with CONEL (The College of Haringey, Enfield and North East London) makes a lot of sense and the proposal for the school to set up there is a good one. The Cuckhoo Hall group of schools are just what we need to raise academic achievement in Enfield and Edmonton. This will alleviate some of the pressure put on our schools to find more places. The Labour Council have been reluctant to support Academies for sometime even though most secondary schools in England are, in fact, academies now - and Academies have done so much to create more school places.” |

Cllr Henry Lamprecht deputy leader of the Conservative Group on Enfield Council said: “A promise, is a promise. The Labour Party promised in their manifesto a £100 rebate for every pensioner household and when I asked Cllr Stafford the Cabinet member responsible the answer I got was a very patronising 'Councillor Lamprecht does not appear to understand what was in the Labour manifesto'.” |
